Unless otherwise stated above, this cat is intended to be a household pet. Neutering or spaying is REQUIRED between four (4) months of age and no later than seven (7) months of age for females and nine (9) months of age for males. Kittens should weigh at least 4-5 pounds before having this surgery. Buyer agrees not to allow this cat to produce offspring. Registration papers will be held until Buyer has provided Seller with a valid statement as proof of spay/neuter signed by a licensed veterinarian. Seller agrees to sign this kitten's registration papers over to the Buyer within 30 days of receipt of all the appropriate documentation.

The Seller is transferring this cat to the Buyer in good faith as a healthy and well cared for animal. Seller guarantees this cat to be free from feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). The Buyer is encouraged to have the cat checked by a veterinarian of the Buyers own preference within a period of 72 hours after the date of sale (or date cat leaves Chit-Chat Cattery in the event the cat is being shipped). If, within this 72 hours period, the cat is deemed by the Buyer to be unsuitable, the cat will be returned to the Seller at Buyer's expense for a full refund. After this 72 hour period, the Seller makes no guarantees as to the health or suitability of this cat with the following exception: If, at any time prior to the cat's first birthday, the cat should develop an undisputedly hereditary defect precluding the cat's ability to be reasonably suited as a pet, the seller will either provide a full refund of the purchase price of the cat, or a replacement cat, the option to be at the Seller's discretion. If professional medical care is given to the cat during this 72 hour period, the Buyer shall be responsible for all veterinary or other professional expenses incurred on behalf of the cat. The cat will not be denied needed veterinary attention. The Seller shall at no time and under no circumstance be liable for more than the replacement of the kitten.

The above cat/kitten has been or will be inoculated at __________________ of age for (1) panaleukopenia, (2) viral rhinotracheitis, (3) feline calicivirus and (4) chlamydiosis. We do not immunize for FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) or FeLV (feline leukemia virus) and if these treatments are implemented, then ALL HEALTH GUARANTEES IMPLIED OR SPECIFIED WILL BECOME NULL AND VOID. These vaccines can depress the immune system of healthy cats. You must tell your vet specifically not to give these vaccines. The only rabies vaccine safe for cats is the Purevax vaccine and this may be given to meet the specific requirements imposed by your county of residence.

The Buyer agrees to provide proper housing and diet, fresh water, parasite control, and general health care, including the completion of immunizations plus yearly boosters and prompt veterinary care for any illness or condition requiring medication or surgery. The cat is to be kept inside.

The Buyer agrees that this cat will at no time be sold, leased or transferred to any pet shop, animal dealer, animal research facility, animal shelter, nor anyone who has ever been convicted of neglect of or cruelty to any human or animal, nor should it be abandoned. It is the intention of the Seller that this is a permanent placement. If at any time the Buyer becomes unable to keep this cat, Seller is given the right of first refusal. If Seller does not reclaim the cat, it is the responsibility of the Buyer to place the cat in an excellent pet home that meets the same conditions as stated in this contract.

Any failure to comply with these terms will result in the Seller's repossession of the cat and a fine, plus any court costs, placed on the Buyer to be paid upon proof of noncompliance.

The laws of the State of Wisconsin shall govern the validity, construction and performance of this Agreement. Any legal action required to enforce the terms of this contract will be brought forth in La Crosse County in the State of Wisconsin. Breach of contract penalty is $1,000 per breach.
    Seller Recommendations
  • The cat should not be surgically declawed nor undergo a tendon-cutting procedure.
  • The cat should be isolated from other pets for at least one week for cat to acclimate to its new surroundings.
  • Any changes to the cats diet should be made slowly as sudden diet changes may result in episodes of diarrhea.
  • The cat should be fed premium cat food. Your kitten has been fed Iams Kitten dry food. It is recommended that your kitten have access to dry food at all times and be kept on a solid kitten food diet until the kitten reaches the age of 12 months old. Other brands highly recommended are Pro Plan Kitten Formula (Made by Purina), Royal Canin Feline Nutrition Growth 24, and Eukanuba Kitten Formula. All of these brands may be found in specialty pet stores.
  • The cat should be given frequent and kind human attention, providing this cat with a generous amount of play and exercise.
  • The cat should not be caged with the exception of short-term confinement if necessary.
  • Avoid clumping litter for at least the first 6 months of the kitten's life. Kittens sometimes eat kitty litter and if ingested, it is reported that the clumping types can cause intestinal blockages. Your kitten is now litter trained and has been using Tidy Cat, Multiple Cat litter. This is the brand we found works best and is inexpensive. It can be found in grocery stores, pet stores and at Sams Club (40 lbs/$5.00).

Deletions or additions to this contract must be initialed by both parties. Aware that this Agreement of Sale is for mutual benefit, we hereby affix our signatures.
